Does your tribe really love you?
The best way to know if someone loves you is by the measure of how much you are missed.
Last week, I had the joy of attending TouchPoint Software’s annual summit in Austin, TX.
This summit is a great example of a tribe of engaged customers, who work in sync with their software provider to accelerate impact and growth in their domain.
I was also really amazed at seeing how TouchPoint leveraged its power users as session speakers to transform a community of customers into an even tighter tribe.
Now, that’s all about those in the room.
But, the highlight for me was about someone who was not in the room.
The spine behind this summit (who helped organize the previous editions, as well) is Hayley Whitworth, who was absent because she unfortunately had just contracted COVID-19.
While it was amazing to see how TouchPoint managed despite her last-minute change in plan, there were at least three occasions on the opening afternoon when her presence was missed.
During handover between sessions, logistics announcements, etc. there were multiple times when the hosts on stage said, “Now this is where we really miss Hayley. She is so good at this!”, which the crowd acknowledged, as well.
Hayley was truly “Ms. Love” at the TouchPoint Summit, because her presence was missed and she was loved by both – organizers and attendees.
How well are you loved by your tribe? I’d love to know!
