How can comedy make you laugh and learn marketing at the same time?
A show followed 10 budding comedians as they each performed a new set weekly, hoping to win laughs, hearts, and ultimately, the grand prize.
A judging panel would then score their set, followed by the audience.
I noticed that the judges’ scores were consistently higher than that of the audience.
Scratching my marketing itch, I realized that the judges were comedians too who understood the elements and effort that went into crafting the perfect joke.
However, the audience scored the comics solely based on how well they got the jokes.
As marketers, we may plan our campaigns with the smartest strategies and the trendiest tools. Taking a step back to look at it from our audience’s perspective will truly determine our success ‘score’.
