Eggs & baskets

The marketers that reap real results put all their eggs in just a few baskets.

Most social media related inquiries I get tend to start at the same point – which all social media channels should we be on?

Almost always, my response is, “You need to remove one important word from that previous question – ALL.”

Unless you have a very large social media management and content creation team, we should aim for that one social media channel that ticks the most boxes.

And no, your target market members are not going to engage with you on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

They may be present on all three but will mostly engage with you only through one.

Reap real results by putting your eggs in very few baskets.

Often the best marketers put all their eggs in one basket even though that could seem counter-intuitive.

It’s not a random choice but a well-thought-out option that’s likely to yield the best results for them.

Then they don’t give up easily and go broader than deeper.

Takeaway

Consider areas where you should consolidate your eggs in one or few baskets so that you can nail it before you scale it.

What’s your egg and basket configuration? Drop me a note here.

Put all your eggs in one basket and then watch that basket.
