Signed, sealed, delivered

“You made a big mistake. You should’ve under-promised and over-delivered!”

But the client wasn’t angry. He was elated!

He’d asked for a sample for a blogging project.

We gave it the full treatment as we’d have done for a real blog because we don’t deal in half-measures.

Either we’re all in, or we aren’t.

It was far more than what he’d expected.

He signed us up on the spot and said the above one-liner as if he’d bagged a bargain.

I still remember what I told him.

“I didn’t make a mistake. I don’t under-promise. If I see that more can be done for you and that we’re able to, I’ll let you know. If you didn’t know that a better outcome was possible, it’s my job as a marketer to help you see it.”

“Also, we don’t over-deliver. We deliver every time. What you see is what you get. We give our best because God sees our effort and output even if clients don’t notice.”

If you don’t like our website, blog, emails, ads, etc., we can’t build a better one for you.

We don’t have dual standards.

This is it.

Takeaway

Don’t be the lifeguard who looks fit but can barely swim.

Be the rising tide that lifts all boats.

How do you float? Let me know.

Doing your best is more important than being the best.
