Thank you

Amazon taught many brands how to end a transaction with the chance to start another one.

Every time we bought a product, Amazon told us that “People who bought this product, also bought these products.”

Brands began copying this strategy so much that they forgot the basic etiquette of thanking people for their trust and business at the end of transactions.

So, I was surprised to see this unexpected title text from Amazon (marked in red on the top-left corner of the page) on the browser.

Most brands aim to pack in keywords for the opportunity to leverage Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Amazon, (which arguably doesn’t need any more SEO) decided to turn this into an opportunity to thank people for their business.

Takeaway

Saying ‘Please’, ‘Sorry,’ and ‘Thank you’ are not just good habits for children, but also for brands to learn.

What is the primary message you send out to your customers? Let me know here.

To earn the respect (and eventually love) of your customers, you first have to respect those customers. That is why Golden Rule behavior is embraced by most of the winning companies.
