Infant Optics

Is product development actually helping our products last longer?
There have been many great achievements in product development over the years.
However, a significant amount of products don’t last more than a few years.
We also seem to have accepted that reality and are fine to throw a product out when it doesn’t work, and buy a new one immediately instead.
Today, I wanted to take the time to appreciate one brand and its commitment to serving customers with no strings attached.
6 years ago, when we had our firstborn, Caleb, we bought a baby monitor from Infant Optics which came with a camera.
At the time, they were also running a promotion, which offered an extra camera that could be viewed on the same monitor.
We used one camera and monitor for 4 years, and when the second child came along, used the second camera as well.
We’ve never paid them a single extra penny since that first purchase.
They’ve never sent us irrelevant promotions, incessant offers, or maintenance warnings.
They built one product that has lasted through a season of rearing infants.
Takeaway
What’s the longest any product has lasted for you without additional repair or expenditure?
