The unthinkable has happened.
Google is not the most visited website in the world anymore!
After decades of reigning on top in the browser and website world, Google was superseded by the new kid on the block – TikTok.
The cloud-infrastructure company ‘Cloudflare’ ranked the world’s most visited sites by following global internet traffic patterns.
This included measuring app usage, or tracking when a person visited a site on any web browser.
According to Cloudflare, TikTok was the most visited site on the internet in 2021.
This means that the world is now starting to move primarily from engagement to entertainment.
In other words, people want great content rather than just regular information. This is the greatest gift and news for smaller brands, because now the playing field has been vastly leveled.
Till last year, Google prioritized age, authenticity, and quantity of information as THE criterion for topping its search listings.
Now, the smartest content creators are topping TikTok’s viewer listings.
