What’s in a name, huh?
My co-founder Brian and I got an invoice for a monthly service rendered to our marketing agency.
Somehow, they managed to spell both our first names wrong in the email.
They are getting paid for October only because Jesus spoke so much about forgiveness!
On the other hand, I was at a webinar earlier this week where the host asked me to pronounce my name for him, since my name is an uncommon one.
“I don’t want to butcher your name, but rather take the effort to say it as if I’d been saying it forever!”, he said.
Two completely different approaches on how to think about another person’s name!
Thinking about other people helps us prospect better, as we put ourselves in their shoes.
And most conversations with prospects start with their names.
