Erik Hersman is a technologist (and a very good one too).
His parents are Christian missionaries who raised him overseas as they served the people of South Sudan.
Last month, he uniquely combined his professional experience and family legacy for a memorable marketing moment.
Erik was a keynote speaker at a Christian conference called Innovate 2021 hosted by Missio Nexus last month here in Dallas.
Typically, Christian conferences have leading Christian professionals sharing the stage for sessions.
That was the case here too, except for one speaker – Erik.
He was the lone technologist among the keynote speakers and hence the one most listened to.
If you’re a marketer looking to speak up a storm at a conference, consider a dentistry conference or a startup summit.
It’s far better to be the only marketer speaking at a healthcare event than to vie for attention among tons of speakers at a marketing conference.
He also mentioned that this was the first time he had spoken at a Christian conference, but I’m hopeful it won’t be the last.
